Saturday, July 19, 2025 — The third day of CLIL Academy at SDIT LHI brought another meaningful learning experience for all teachers. This professional development program is organized by PLC (Pioneer Language Center LHI) in collaboration with the CrnD (Curriculum and Development Division) and the LnD (Learning and Development Division) of BPH LHI.

The theme of the day was CLIL Lesson Planning and Micro-Teaching—a session designed to help teachers deepen their understanding of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) and apply it directly into their teaching practice.

The session began with teachers watching and analyzing examples of good CLIL classroom practices from European schools. This sparked a rich and insightful discussion, where teachers reflected on the CLIL principles they observed and raised questions about things they still found unclear.

After the discussion, teachers worked in small groups to design their own CLIL-based lesson plans. They were especially encouraged to apply the language triptych—language of, for, and through learning—into both planning and teaching.

In the second half of the day, each group delivered a short micro-teaching session based on their lesson plan. Fellow teachers acted as students and gave supportive, constructive feedback in a peer evaluation session that followed.

The atmosphere throughout was positive, collaborative, and full of enthusiasm. It was a great reminder that learning together can be both fun and impactful. With every step, SDIT LHI continues its journey to build strong, confident educators who can bring language-rich and meaningful learning into every classroom.

Stay tuned for the next chapter of CLIL Academy!
